Melting fat with Kybella

Hi my beauties! As we prepare for the spring and summer, we all want to look and feel our best. One of my favorite treatments to help with this is Kybella. If you're not familiar with Kybella, let me tell you why I love it so much.

Kybella is an injectable fat dissolving substance made of deoxycholic acid, which dissolves fat cells. Once the fat cells are destroyed, they can never grow back. This means that the results of the treatment are long-lasting. Additionally, Kybella provides a very even, smooth, natural-looking result that is hard to achieve with other treatments. Liposuction, for example, can result in irregular distribution of fat removal, whereas Kybella is very uniform.

One of the benefits of Kybella is that it is a quick and easy treatment. While there is a little burning sensation when it goes in, it typically goes away within 2-3 minutes. People usually rate the pain as a 4-5 out of 10 on the pain scale. Sometimes there may be a little bruising or swelling, but it is minimal.

The most common treatment areas for Kybella are the double chin, lower jawline area, bra fat, back fat, waist area, midsection, lower abdomen, medial thighs, and knees. As we get older, our fat distribution changes, and these are the areas where we see more adipose tissue. You don't have to undergo anesthesia like you do for liposuction. It provides scarless and even results, and patients are always happy with their outcomes.

While there are other treatment options for fat reduction, I prefer Kybella because it has minimal side effects. Coolsculpting and Emsculpt are two other popular treatments, but they can have a lot of side effects. Coolsculpting can cause uneven distributions of fat reduction, and the handpiece can cause skin laxity and irregular texture after the treatment. On the other hand, Emsculpt, which I really like, works by inducing muscular hyperplasia and reduces fat because the muscles are getting bigger and increasing metabolic activity. While it provides a natural result that is long-lasting, it is not always effective for spot reduction of fat.

Kybella won't give the same results as more aggressive treatments like liposuction or laser lipo, but it is an excellent option for someone who needs more minor body contouring with minimal side effects. It rarely leads to skin laxity, and it has a tightening component with it, so you won't see the same laxity as with Coolsculpting.

My approach to body contouring is always to live a healthy lifestyle, eat healthy, and exercise regularly. When you get to your desired weight, we can use Emsculpt to augment your workout routine and results and then use Kybella to get rid of little spots of fat that diet and exercise won't change.

Overall, Kybella is an excellent option for anyone who wants to reduce minor fat pockets with minimal side effects. If you're interested in learning more about Kybella, be sure to watch my YouTube video below. Subscribe and leave a comment to join our Derm Family!
